IntroductionMicro-Tec fibre reinforced plastic probes

The Micro-Tec fibre reinforced plastic probes are practical multipurpose tools for positioning and handling of parts and components of soft or brittle materials. They are equally useful for sample preparation applications. They are multifunctional with pointed, curved, flat and wide tips for probing, scraping, stirring, pushing, positioning, handling and scoping.

The fibre reinforced plastic probes are all offered as double ended probes with shaped tips and body in three different styles. Offered as:

  • Style 1 – Fine pointed and flat strong tips with rounded body
  • Style 2 – Curved fine point and strong flat tips with squared body
  • Style 3 – Fine flat sharp and large flat tips with squared body
  • Set – All three probe styles in one set.

These probes are offered in three different material types to cover a wide range of applications, brittle and softer materials, magnetic materials and chemical environments.

  • CT: carbon fibre reinforced PVDF for softer materials and chemical resistance. ESD safe material for handling scratch sensitive materials. Clean room compatible. High chemical resistance.
  • CP: carbon fibre reinforced PEEK for high temperature and abrasive applications.
  • GN: glass fibre reinforced polyamide66 for general purposes. Stong, wear resistant and insulating.

 PVDF-Probes-AUThe Micro-Tec CT plastic probes are made from PVDF polyvinylidene fluoride and carbon fibre reinforced (30%). These probes combine excellent mechanical strength and toughness with excellent chemical resistance. They are heat stabilised, have a high heat capacity and can be used contineosly at temperatures up to 150°C. Clean room compatible due to high abrasion resistance with low extraction value. The softer material is suitable for handling very scratch- and contamination-sensitive materials. Excellent chemical resistance to solvents, mineral oils, halogens, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid and hydrofluoric acid. Resistant to UV and nuclear radiation. Micro-Tec CP ESD safe carbon fibre reinforced PEEK probes
 
PEEK-Probes-AUThe Micro-Tec CP plastic probes are made from PEEK polyetheretherketone reinforced with 30% carbon fibres. The CP probes are hard, rigid, exhibit high tensile and flexural strength, are very wear resistant and they have a low thermal expansion coefficient. The material has a high heat capability up to 260-300°C and is fully ESD safe. Excellent chemical resistance combined with excellent resistance to thermal aging. Suitable for handling and positioning of harder materials and components in sample preparation, cleaning and assembly processes even at elevated temperatures (positioning for soldering). Micro-Tec GN insulating glass fibre reinforced polyamide66 probes

Polyamide66-Probes-AUThe Micro-Tec GN plastic probes are made from polyamide 66 and reinforced with 50% fine glass fibres. These probes have high strenght, and good wear, creep and fatigue resistance. Moderate heat capacity with good to moderate chemical resistance for oils, non-polar solvents and weak acids. Not resistant to alkalis, strong acids and hot steam/water. These non-magnetic probes are ideal for handling magnets and magnetic materials. This is an insulating material with a black colour.
